The brief
For the same young couple's half-timbered (fachwerk) country house in Khimki, near Moscow, this bedroom had to feel light and modern while keeping the warmth of a house in the woods. The idea was simple: a calm, bright room where the fire and the forest view do the talking.
The design
The room is about 35 m². The wall behind the bed is clad in glossy white lacquered panels with narrow mirror inserts, which hide storage and reflect the light from the windows. Two black glass table lamps on white nightstands frame a wide upholstered bed.
The corner is fully glazed from floor to ceiling, with sheer and blackout curtains on a hidden LED-lit track. A black hanging fireplace sits in front of the windows, with a firewood rack beside the bed, and a blue lounge chair with an ottoman makes a reading corner by the glass.
Palette and materials
White high-gloss lacquer, mirror inserts, warm oak floor, soft grey textiles, linen sheers, black metal, a textured rug and warm hidden LED lighting, with deep blue upholstery as the only accent.
Scope
Interior design and 3D visualization.
