The brief
A young couple building a half-timbered (fachwerk) country house in Khimki, near Moscow, wanted their private floor to feel like a mountain retreat: calm, dark and textured, but warm enough to live in every day.
The design
The master suite, about 45 m², joins the bedroom and the bathroom into one space, separated only by a black-framed glass partition so the light and the view pass through.
Behind the bed, a sculpted rock-relief wall gives the room its character, while the other walls are finished in deep decorative plaster with classic mouldings. In the bathroom, a freestanding bathtub sits on a black marble podium, facing a double wood vanity under oval backlit mirrors, with a walk-in shower and open shelving.
Palette and materials
Decorative plaster, sculpted stone relief, natural oak, black marble, smoked glass in black frames, matte black fittings and warm hidden LED lighting.
Scope
Interior design and 3D visualization.
